The Houston Society of Glass Beadmakers (HSGB) is a group of enthusiastic lampwork artists who meet once a month to enjoy the company of other artists, share techniques, see lampwork demos and have a great time. We meet on the first Sunday of each month from 2:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m.. Our group presently has over 60 members.
Membership fees are $35 per year to join the group and can be paid using PayPal. Add $1.05 to cover paypal fees. If you are a member of International Society of Glass Beadmakers (ISGB), the dues are $25. Although it is not necessary to be a paid member to join the group, there are many advantages to becoming a paid member.
Paid Members are entitled to the use of our comprehensive lending library which is comprised of a large collection of books, DVDs and presses.
Paid Members who have reached a level in their beadmaking skills (click for guidelines) which allows them to produce structurally sound beads are also entitled to participate in trunk shows which become available from time to time throughout the year.
A monthly newsletter is distributed to all who request a copy through email.
Our group contains several talented teachers if you are interested in taking classes.
We host and offer a variety of events throughout the year that are beneficial to the club members which include guest lampwork artist demos, an Annual Spring Auction, a Christmas Party, and various other classes and demos.
